Mission
In 2014, TIAA sought to enhance the customer experience with its portal, making it easier for investors to access portfolio holdings, review performance metrics, and manage account information.
My Contributions
As a Product Designer, I applied creative, user-centered thinking to solve these challenges. I designed a streamlined interface that reduced navigation steps, enabling customers to quickly access portfolio information and view snapshots without clicking through multiple pages.
Impact
The design received positive feedback from TIAA’s design team and management, and as a result, I was invited to contribute to additional projects within the organization.

Discovery
To effectively plan the project, I researched the portfolio and account details pages and conducted discovery sessions with key stakeholders to:
  • Identify challenges customers faced with the existing TIAA design
  • Clarify the goals and purpose of each section within the portfolio and account detail views
  • Explore design options to simplify and improve the overall user experience
Planning
After the discovery phase, I collaborated with the TIAA design team through multiple working sessions to define what data should appear on the portfolio and account detail views, how it should be presented, and how users would consume and interact with the information.
UI Design
I created portfolio and account detail views that were both intuitive to use and visually engaging, making it easier for customers to navigate their investment information.
